Maybe someone can tell me on my 4107 with 8v 71 N and cable pull accelerator, how can I tell if my foot flat on the floor is really opening up the motor all the way? It seems like I should have more travel and top end like maybe it needs some adjustment. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The easiest way I know to check, is to have someone push the pedal, while you check the travel on the governor, should be a quick way to tell. g

or a stick. That reminds me, back in the day, when I hitchhiked a lot, met a few truckers who used a stick to hold the pedal down. They like to call it cruise control, raelly they were jsut running against the governor, but they seemed to enjoy it. Some had a ratcheting kind of rig....others just used a stick jammed under the dash.

With the throttle cable clevis pin removed at the governor end, someone (or something) holding the pedal down, I pull the cable clevis back with one hand to eliminate slop and crank the governor wide open with the other, the pin should drop cleanly in place. No, I don't have three hands. The governor hand can do the clevis pin.
(Thought I'd better clarify before we got out of control here!)
