Where can I buy a propane tank for my 4106? Do I want a RV type tank or is the kind on fork trucks good too? I'm in the boonies and would like to find an retail outlet on the web or mail order. Also where can I buy boat cable? Same issue! Thanks John Root 4106 1638 |

You want a vapor withdrawl type tank. Some ASME tanks have both a vapor and liquid withdrawl and can be used as well. (just leave the liquid part unused) As Ed says, the forklift type are liquid and you don't want that style. So that still leaves you with choices - either an ASME permanently mounted propane tank or portable tank(s). Each have pros and cons. (large capacity versus ease of filling without moving bus) How many gallons do you desire to carry? I went with a combination of small 5 gallon horizontal portable bottles and one 25 gallon permanent tank. Try this site for on-line order of tankage. https://www.betterpropaneshop.com/ Scott |

Actually it isn't a big deal but it is a dangerous deal to change a tank to vapor if it doesn't already have a vapor port welded into it. Forklift tanks are not a good idea. Get a tank that's already fitted for what you want and set up properly, because if you don't thoroughly understand what you're doing with propane, you're messing with yur life. Gee I kinda sound like CE on the MAK board don't I !!! Here's a nice little one on ebay: (sorry all you ebay haters) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2408711280 Otherwise start here and these folks can steer you to a local dealer and the right kind of tank for your rig: http://www.manchestertank.comhttp://www.manchestertank.com/products/rv_cylinder.htm/ Cheers Gary |

To purchase boat cable , West Marine CA , Defender Industries in Ct and Hamilton Marine ME all have 800# and very informative catalogues. The best wire , boat cable ect. is Anchor brand. You pay a premium , but the wire is thicker copper for the same size rating . All is fine strand & tinned. Use bare tinned terminal ends with 3X shrink wrap over and you have NASA grade conections. BE sure to buy the $40 to $60.+ crimper , not the autozone $3.00 for correct pressures . I use a roofing iron heated with propae torch to electrically join connectors . Really fast if you have a bunch to do and doesn't melt wire beyond soldered conector , maintaining the fantastic flexability you paid for. The FREE paper catalogues have mucho info on electric and a variety of products from the marine field that are excellent (tho pricy) for campers.. FAST FRED |

Manchester is the mfr. You'll still have to find a dealer to make the purchase. That's why I recommended the link above. You can buy on-line. But the Manchester site will at least show you what is avail. Scott |
