Just took my 4104 home. Well took it to my shop(I have a glass & mirror business in Phila.). We have a large garage so its inside the building. Probably the first time inside in many years. It actually worked quite well. I will need a few new tires. Anyone near here have a few 10.00R22s??? Found a few of the bolts where the driveshaft bolts to the trans are missing. What size and grade are thay supposed to be? I'm not sure yet but something is not right in the rear brakes. I only see one chamber(right side) and that is loose. I think I'll let it sit till I get that sorted out. I'm sure I will have more questions of the group soon. I can't believe I actually got a bus. SOOOOO COOL Howard Berman PD4104-4139 PS anyone in the Phila area want to come out and play???? |

Congratulations! I felt the same way: SOOO Coooool to have a bus! It took me a year, on and off, to get the mechanicals working. Now I'm working on the conversion full tilt! |

Nothing beats the feeling of driving her away from her old home or the promises you make to her by the end of the drive to her new home, both are ALL lies!! She is gonna want a new pair of shoes & then some little baubbles, next thing you know she's convinced you that YOU would look better if SHE had a "make-over"!! The trick to making your new menage-a-trois work, is convincing your wife that you are doing this for her, (pointing out how it would be easier for you to go fishin alone or watch TV all w/e instead being a slave to your new woman/bus.) You dint think about those things on your way home did you.... Using the term "OUR dream or FREEDOM machine" frequently will distract her from the fact that she will still be doing the cookin and the dishes! My friends (when I still had some) used to chide me aboot (Hi Ian) owning a bus that wasn't in my posession, they called it 3 yrs of foreplay, because it took that long for me to drive it home after I bought it. As it turned out, my new "woman" just needed a new radiator and 2 wires reattached properly, and she now has me pouring time, money and sweat into her like foreign aid from Washington. ..iddn't life wunderfull....!!! |

Howard Congrats on your new hobby. My wife and father inLaw, both thought I had lost my marbles, when I went out in 1987 and bought a 1960 4104.But I am very please to say they did most of the inside conversion, while i updated the mechanics on the out side.We have used the coach since the day we puchased it,Dont get dicourdiged, when in trouble just post the question on one off the boards and help will be there. Regards John |
