Hi folks, At the beginning of July, Jack Conrad let us all know that we had lost our old friend Dave Hartley. Some of you may know that Dave had a web site where he offered several individuals access to an email server and now, it appears, that valued resource may not exist for very much longer. I speculate that the service will cease along with the expiration of his domain name in about February. In response to this, Jack and I have exchanged a few emails looking for a solution. As a result, I have decided, and Jack has asked, to offer email addresses accessible anywhere on the internet to anyone who had an email account with Dave and to everyone who reads BNO or any of the other bus conversion related web sites. Therefore, folks, in fond memory and in honor of David Hartley, and, of course, for your convenience, please feel free to ask for an email address to use as your own. I'll start a new section on the bulletin board with all this information, but for now, ask directly on this thread with the email address you'd like to have and I'll try my best to keep up with your requests. Your new email address from BNO will be yourchoiceofname@busnut.com. For example, Jack's new email address is jconrad@busnut.com. Your email will be accessible from any computer, anywhere in the world, by typing in www.bnoemail.busnut.com and using your new email address as your log in and a password of your own choosing. So, if you need or want a no strings attached email address, please leave me a message here. I have not found where I can change my password. I have logged in using the password you gave me Ian but I cannot find where to change it.... Hi Austin, first, log in using the username and password I assigned to you. Log out using the link on the left side of the menu. Log back in again using the "Webmail" screen by clicking on "click here to log in again" link. The resulting screen will allow you to change your password by clicking on the appropriate icon. (From that screen, you can also visit optional email delivery clients, but I would strongly suggest that you use only the "Horde" email client. While the other two are ok, Horde is the one I have chosen to use here at BNO and the only one I will support). Thanks! Ian. | ||

Doug, I believe the @rvbus.net email addresses will expire at the same as www.rvbus.net - February 22, 2011 is the listed expiry date. I have no plans to pick that domain name up and, frankly, as a posthumous courtesy to David, I don't think anyone should. Personally, I would find it a little uncomfortable having people expecting Dave's web site when typing in his domain name and have them land here at BNO, for example. I just don't want to go there. That said, I have called on resources available here at BNO to offer up email addresses, and to prevent any of the same issues with this site and accompanying email addresses, I am involved in succession planning so that if I disappear, the site won't. So if you require an email address and whether or not you were a customer of Dave's, you can obtain one here without obligation. I hope that clears up my intentions. Ian www.busnut.com | ||

John, When you log out, then log back in, a main screen called "cPanelx" will appear. The mail client to use is "Horde". ed note: Ian will only support the HORDE mail client. Anyway, right below the "Horde" icon is "Change password". Follow the screens step by step and you should be okay. Then log back in, and "Horde" should again come up as default. I'm not a computer geek. Seriously, I'm not. I'm actually keeping this status-quo until I see how I can best incorporate it into my new life with buses. Good luck Doug | ||

My reason for a busnut account is that my rvbus.net account will probably end shortly. I prefer not to use gmail, hotmail, aol, yahoo, etc. I like having my name only(can't do that with the "big" providers) and have found that with accounts like busnuts.com and rvbus.net I get much less spam. I also like a provider that gives me an address that lets everyone know I am into bus conversions. If the busnut.com attracts someone to Ian's site and the bus conversion hobby, that is great. I have had the same, single Email address since 1994 and confess I wouldn't know how to "manipulate" any other email....having said that, I am sure the "obvious reasons" stated by Jack are without question.....not yet convinced of your "NEED"; you have it all together as it is!!!.....
