I have grown an interest in the FOLD OUT, the alternative to the SLIDE. THere was a converter here some time ago and he was working on one, and as I recall, he had a real sharp layout also. Anyone recall this fellow or how he made out with his bus and his fold out?
Along similar lines, there was that fellow who built the Whathellisit? Remember that Austrialian 4WD with the diamond plate sides and tops, and it had some fold out type of layouts also. Anybody recall the web site of this gent?
A friend might be interested in my RV but he wants more room and has no interest in the troublesome slide out but thinks a fold out is just the ticket, so I have an interest in the foldout design now. Any ideas would be helpful, as always, many thanks-cd

The problem is NOT with the slide out goodies ,

THE problem is the huge hole that needs cutting in the coach structure.

So a tip out is NO help.

Thanks John for the link to the WotheLLIsthat.
i forgot about his great floorplan, I enjoy looking at it as well as some ideas. lol

Hey FF, thanks for the comment. If you think a bus has a problem with a large hole in the side, this guy is thinking of putting one in a 1978 Mallard RV. I think what pushed the fold out over the top rather than the slide out, is the mechanism needed to move all that weight. I can admit, I have read many emails about slide outs that wont slide out or wont slide in or froze at the halfway position. The fold out is done by the owner and does not require a lot of effort to set up or take down. I am intrigued with the idea, NO NOT FOR MY BUS, just the idea. thanks
