I found some n-70 injectors that were rebuilt and have set for a good while. Question I have c-60's in an8V-71 and they need to be redone or replaced. what is my good, kind, friendly, knowledgable Bus nut friends think I should do. I believe I can get the 70,s pop checked for a little of nothing also. Gomer |

Gomer, I'd have 'em checked & go with them. They are probaby fine as is but such a pain to R & R & run the rack that I wouldn't to take a chance. Unless you want to become proficient at tuning up Detroit 2 strokes! |

I had 70's in my non turbo 8-71 with automatic, they smoke during lead foot, also 70's are used for industral, gen, pumps, etc. My coach ran East coast, if it ran out West on big hills lots of smoke. If your 8-71 is advanced timming and in good shape, 325HP. Yes get those injectors popped, even fresh rebuilt injectors have problems. Now I have a 8-71TA @375HP. |

I would advise not going bigger than N65 in your application. The only noticable difference with the 70's would be more fuel burn. |

Marvin Your engine with C-60's will be standard timing. Anything over 65's requires advanced timing which means getting at the rear gear train. Not easy unless you are doing a rebuild. They will work in your engine but blow a lot of black unburned fuel out the pipe. Maybe someone will swap you a set of 60's in good shape as they are rebuilding their engine and want larger injectors. Bill |

The C60's are perfectly matched for the wide gear spacing of the 4spd manual. The peak torque on the C60's is rated at 1200rpm. With 65 and larger on a non turbo engine, the torque is rated at 1600rpm. You'll get alot of smoke (I had brown tag N65's in mine and didn't like driving above 5,000ft). Keep the C60's. Only go larger if you're going to install a turbo-and I can tell you from personal experience that turbocharging the 8V-71 REALLY wakes it up and makes driving much more pleasurable. I don't understand anyone that replaces the 8V-71 with a 6V-92. Good Luck, TomC |
