I am looking for a source for an HD or HT 70 Allison Automatic.

I understand that they were installed in Crowns and various other trucks such as Trash trucks. Does anyone have more detailed info on where to find one?
Will it fit to my Series 60?
Does it need a computer, too old isn't it?
What are the gear ratios?
Lock up converter?
Thanks.

Peter.

Peter,
Try Patrick Young at the Wheelchair Project. He has a couple of Crowns but don't remember if he has one with an auto. The HT-70 was around long, long before computer controls. I have no other idea where you may find one but if you don't find another source of info I can look up the ratios in the manual I have for mine. I am working long hours trying to get the painting done and some other things so we can get back on the road so may not reply immediately.

Bill,
I would be very grateful if you could look up the ratios for me as I have found little info on these transmissions. I can't even find the HP and torque limits. Without the basic info on the trans, I don't know if it is even going to be feasible for me to use.

Thanks for the suggestion on Patrick Young, I had forgotten about him having Crowns. Hopefully he will join this discussion if he is online.
Peter.

Peter,
Will bring that manual here from where I am working on the bus tomorrow, Monday. Patrick Young is apparently traveling but I hope he gets back soon since I ordered a part from him!

HT-70 is apparently not man enough for a Series 60 torque output, so checking out other automatic options, thanks to all for their help and advice.

Peter.
