I was doing some clean up and came across an extra set of fans for a MC5 This is the unit that draws air thru the radiators, twin squirrel cage fans with a belt driven transmission between them (not sure correct name for this unit) I am looking to give it away.. FREE!!! no strings attached. I will even nail together a shipping crate for it if necessary. Otherwise it will go to scrap. Any shipping etc is your expense Les | ||

The 5 is full of treasure... Or it is one big, storage shed on wheels. I want to sell the 5 but I won't sell it to someone who doesn't know what they are getting into. She needs some TLC so to sell it to someone expecting to take it on a long road trip wouldn't be right. The 8V71 is in great shape, only about 70k miles since complete rebuild. Most everything is in good condition except for the transmission. Bad leak on the output shaft. It would need to be rebuilt or at least rebearinged. I replaced the seal once before and now it is leaking again so it must have a loose bearing. If someone wanted it for parts, especially the engine, it would be best. It is drivable but you have to stop about every 300 miles to add oil to the tranny Les | ||

Hate to see a 5 parted, but then again it will keep others alive. If you do end up parting it out be sure to let us know so it doesn't go to waste. What year is it? A,B,or C? | ||

Ed I would hate to see her die in vane too She is a 1966 MC5A If someone needed her for parts to keep another coach alive I could live with that. Best if someone wanted to make a project of her. She isn't all that far from "back to life" Les | ||
