I have been talking to a very nice gentleman called Howard, from Global Transmissions of Phoenix AZ.

During the conversation, he mentioned "their other place of business in Tucson". Alarm bells rung and I asked him if that was also Global? His reply was that the Tucson place was "Arizona Transmissions". Isn't this the place that so many people have had problems with? Do the same problems exist at Global? Anyone have anything to comment on Global and whether I should run as fast as I can from them?

I was given their name by the local Phoenix Allison dealer for doing the conversion from stick to automatic.

Failing that, has anyone got a good recommendation for someone to do this work, I am in Kingman AZ, so Las Vegas is nearer anyway.

Peter.

I do not remember the name exactly, but find out if they are a couple of blocks from the Phoenix airport. If so, I STRONGLY advise you to run as fast as you can.

Peter, Randy here in Phoenix.
I checked the Yellow Pages for you.
Global Industrial Automatics has three locations: Phoenix, Tucson, and Los Angeles.
The Phoenix location is in the south part of West Phoenix, nowhere near the airport.

Their Toll Free number in LA is 877-305-0800.
In Tucson it's 888-395-1392.

Their ad says, "1 YEAR NO HASSLE WARRANTY".

Good luck!

Randy,

Thanks for the research.

The address given is 1501 West Broadway, is that near the airport?

I am still a little guarded by the admitted link to Arizona Automatics in Tucson.

Peter,

You're welcome!

Let's put it this way: If you're in Kingman, that address is real close to Sky Harbor Airport! On the other hand, if you had to walk from Sky Harbor to that address, it is one fricken far away place! By cab, it's about fifteen minutes.

I will see if I can find anything else out.

Does anybody have any information about AZ Transmissions? They are offering me a rebuilt Allison automatic and rebuilt 8V71 turbo for my MC 8.
