I used to have one in my last bus, and it was ok but I'll tell you what a pain it caused when the slave cylinder failed one day when I was in the mountains on dirt backroads. NEVER want one of those again.

For my Crown, I took out the factory 17" single plate disc, redrilled my flywheel and mounted a Lipe 2-disc "ez push" ceramic-puck clutch. The darned thing is now easier to push than my honda accura!!! If that appeals to you, you can get one from Dennis at Valley Truck in Fresno, Ca.
It's a bit of work but much stronger than the single plate clutch and well worth it.

If you want to put in a hydraulic clutch for other reasons, like ya just can't deal with the linkage of a mechanical clutch, etc, then hydraulic will work, just go to a truck junkyard and grab one. You could also stick a "Hydrovac" assist unit on the system if you could find vacuum to power it...

Cheers
Gary

I think my '74 10-wheeler has a rod thing that actually connects the pedal to the clutch but I am not sure as it was my brother who removed the actual clutch pedal to grind it down soosss the pedal was lower to the floor. CROWNS FOREVER!!

Also maybe it was you who mentioned that you knew an individual up in the NW who had installed a Big Cam 400 Cummins into a Crown Super Coach and if soooss, how did he do the intercooler? I would like to upgrade my 250 Cummins into a 400. Thanks.
