I'm having a miserable time trying to get together a parts list to convert my 06. I have the manuals and parts book, but I just can't get it together. If anyone out there has done his bus and has a list, I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

If you are determined to do the job yourself, then I would recomend you buy the procedures guide for the project. It is complete on the procedure and includes a parts list. Find it here for $25.

what kind of power steering are you wanting to add?? there are three i know of , the original power assist, sheppard and air, i would use the sheppard unit, the gear box replaces your old one , you will need a drag link, the input shaft may have to be shortened, also a pump with high pressure releif valve, and the nessasary hoses, thats all i can think of at the moment, hope this helps, may be able to find my notes on the subject, i put mine on but it has been a while. the rest of the front end needs to be in good shape and they run a little more caster on these units to get away from any wander . they also recomend changing the bevel gears in the box at the bottom of the steering column to a 1:to1 ratio, these are very hard to find, they were used in the 1973 4905 and newer, very expensive. many run the old gears.

I changed my 06 to Sheppard after buying all the parts from NIMCO. $450.00 and about 8 hours work. I have had no problems since and would do it again in a heartbeat.>>>Dan

My thanks to all of you for the replies. I tried Nimco last year, but they didn't have all the parts. I'll get it done before cold weather. I studied Tony's photos for hours before converting my rear brakes to 30-30's last year; what a big help!
