I hate codes... it took me years to figure out dot dot dot dash dash dash dot dot dot.
now they want me to figure out 'BFF' and 'b4' and '4 your 411'.
As for electrical, gas, fire and water codes, I just do as they tell me.

I hate codes also. 5 level 7 level 7bits 8bits odd parity even parity sdlc ddcp ccdp hex and not last but the most confusing is ip. which is being changed because there is not enough addresses.

now you know why I have a mechanical 6v92 in "HUGGY"

I ditto Jack - except codes make me talk even fuddier. BTW, what's a code? I always thought it was a secret handshake (or something).

BTW, what's a code?

In the RV sense it is self justification to assemble real CRAP, and claim "It is RVIA Code!".

Code is what gets the RV assemblers off the hook with insurance co's and the Gov when folks DIE!

"You can't legislate against stupidity".
(When they try to, we all pay the price).

In my opinion, a little education does more good than a "fine".

Talk Bout codes and stupidity, I saw a man[suppose to be smart] hook a hose to an LP cylinder without a regulator to a cook stove and tried to lite it. WOW The aftermath and education was PRICELESS!! He got rid of all gas equipment for some reason. LESSON LEARNED!!

Some jurisdictions have a requirement that the door from an attached garage to a living area must be a self-closing steel door.

That most likely would have been adequate to have prevented such a tragedy.

Sad tragic event to be sure. & some wonder why running a genset exhaust properly is so important.

Who would have thought leaving a car running unattended in a public garage for a long time was a good idea?
Since they did, I wouldn't put it past them to prop the self closing door open too for an equally poor reason.

A little more education would have gone a long way to prevent this.
