I have been working in a small, semi weather tight space to do what little wood working I know how to do. Well, one nice soul from this board took pity on me and brought me a really nice band saw that he no longer had use for from North Carolina. The trip for the saw went from NC to Abilene, Tx. and got dropped off at Paul Lawry's place. I was suppose to find a way to go up and pick it up, but wasn't having much luck. Our little VW Cabriolet isn't big enough to haul that thing, so Roy contacted me and said he would bring it by on his way back from AZ. Anyway, for the last 4 days, I have had the band saw out in my work area under the upper porch that I covered and walled in with canvas and ripstop awning covers that weren't much use any more. This wasn't ideal as I had to cover everything up after each use, and to use one tool, I had to put the other tool away. There wasn't even room to walk completely around the work bench, and the space only had an area of 9' X 12' which is also storage for some other stuff I need in the park. Today, I got ambitious and moved everything into our old Rec hall. You can see pictures here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=94084&id=1113096112&l=9a26b957cd |

Dal; That is a nice band saw, and now a bigger place to work. What next, a finished set of cabinet for the Bus? Dave |

It is air conditioned and I'm going to put a couple of throwaway filters on the intake in the rec hall side of the house. Next maybe a large planer and a shaper jointer? or how about one of those fancy little CNC machines from Craftsman? |

Wow, nice shop! Last I remember we ate a meal or two there at your mini rally. That is one part of our lifestyle I miss, having a place to set up shop and not having to put everything away every day. At least I haven't had to sweep ours out! Good for You! |

hmmm...rearrange room, raise roof, err.. ceiling, add a garage door...coach should fit in there nicely. Then that snow will have a chance to melt off. |
