I have been converting a MCI-9 for quite sometime. Finally putting in the interior after many years of doing the mechanics. Well this weekend the bus air system was having trouble pumping up and holding any air. Opened up the parking brake canisters only to find I needed to replace the pancakes on one side. Thought I was out of the woods. Nope. Still loosing air. Turned off the bus and heard a hissing aroung the front tire. Did a pressure check of the beam and wala. My friend that is helping me say there is a fix for this which is a plate system that goes ontop and bottom of the bellows that eliminates the beam. Does anyone know where I can get this or would any of you have something on the shelf you would be willing to sell. Look forward to hearing from anyone on this.

Cory, I was glad to hear that you had a good experience with this company.

This is a Sam Walker business and the many warnings should be a part of a person's evaluation when you do business with them.

I can only hope that he has turned the corner and is working on being a valuable resource to our hobby.

ever consider using a seperate small tank to replace function of airbeam. and retain the cushioned ride provided by the extra capacity that was the purpose of the air beam. less work and expense.

Bob, I offered everyone a chance to do just that awhile back.
I have 3 - 540 cubic ft. CO2 welding tanks. No one was interested, so I'll probably cut them up and toss them in the scrap pile.

JIM .. I did not buy anything from them. I bought my set off ebay. I posted that site only for those that are not familiar with the plating process. It shows some good pictures. When I do mine I am going to video tape it so others can see.

The tank is going to need a rather large hole to receive the volume of air that comes out of the hole in the end air bag.

The plate system is cheapest and easiest.

I plated one rear side of my 4104 and the other side is still original, I can tell no difference whatsoever except that the plated side inflates much, much quicker.
