Just started stripping an 05 eagle and when I took up the flooring going down the center of the coach, I found an air valve about half way back. Looks like a leveling type valve and is attached to the rod that gives you 3rd and 4th on the 4 speed transmission. Could not find any thing in my model 10 book and do not have one for the 05. Does any one know what this valve is or what it does? |

Cullen, as a diesel mechanic of 20+ years (though admittedly not a coach mechanic), I am amazed that you have discovered something that I have NEVER heard of before... I'll be curious to see what someone who knows tells you! Brian |

There is a master cylinder in line with one of two 3/4" gear shifting rods, this one meters air pressure to the slave cylnder further aft center. It is the clutch air assist system. The slave cyl is about 4" in diameter, over the fwd engine room bulkhead...With a rod down to the cltch lever on the trans..BTW It needs at least 60 lbs air press in tanks before it will operate....... Ken, a hint for future errors. It is easy to go back, using the edit button, and correct errors like that. One more reason why like this board. BTW, you must do this within thirty minutes of making the post. Ian has a 30 minute timer on the edit function. Richard |

Just guessing I found the same Valve on my 05, I do beleve that it was for the bus A/C and when you were in the lower gears it shut down te A/c unit to prevent overheat. |
