We only have 9000 miles since all brakes updated. I also have jakes and so i am good to go right? Got to see RJ's and the Warriors seminars up close and learned alot. Especially the pre trip check and espc the brake check. because all is new i have been a little bit lax on the brake testing. Well pulling into the gate after the trip this afternoon when holding the brake i heard air coming from the right front chamber area! We had just powerwashd the undercarriage including alot of water in the wheel wells and brake area. I had just retrned after a 3 mile ride to try and dry everything, as it was right at freezing and getting dark. There was no problem while driving and stopping etc but usiong the brakes inching into the yard i heard the air! After some hard stabs it stopped but it goes to show something can happen just like that. After it warms up next time will have to investigate. thnks again for the time everyone took to teach us stuff we think we already know.

Hi Dave,

I am so glad you were able to gleen some pertinent information as it applies to you "now"!

Please feel free (and everyone else, too!) to refer to RJ's comprehensive daily circle check at his link on BNO: http://www.busnut.com/bbs/messages/12262/16203.html?1167072614. Since 2001, this circle check has been best way to ensure you and your human cargo (not to mention your bus) are safe and sound every time you drive anywhere.

More live seminars on topics that count to you: Coming to a web site near you (ahem!)

Thanks for the update Dave.

Great post David, Glad you didn't get in a wreck.
You can't stress how important checking your brakes are. It goes deeper than just checking for air leaks. I just hope that people that are new to the bus world get some air brake training. I myself probly could use more. Things have changed so much since I drove truck.
