HI all,
I keep hearing about having the oil tested on the DD's.
Just what is involved?
what do the tests test for?
Where would one get the test done?
Approximate cost?
Thanks
Jim

warm that baby up real good....get under it & take a sample out of the drainpan...go to a truck dealership (or, call first) tell them you need to get some oil tested & ask where do you take it...get a good mechanic to "READ" the results for you..just like a DR. ...they can tell ya' ,what to worry about...in case you didn't see this the last time...anti-freeze shows up as potasium on the "results"..they can tell ya' if you have metal, babbit, all kinds of stuff...but really, you need somebody "GOOD" to look at the results of the test..sorry this was so long of a post...

and.. it needs to have JUST come in from a hard run...20 miles or better..if you let everything settle and take it off the top,it won't be accurate.. and..I thought that's what we were after...

Your friendly DD dealer will sell the kit for $12-$15 or so.
Comes with the can to mail it in and all the info.

A very good idea every year at oil change time , or ESP before a purchase.
