I have been looking at a 1966 GM PD-4107. It belongs to a guy who has moved to Europe. It is sitting at a bus service shop. The shop owner has been servicing buses since he was a teenager working for a bus company. He has dozens of buses, all makes and years. He has a couple of restoration projects he is working on. He has been servicing the 4107 for the owner for years and has a complete file on it. He says the bus is in top shape, just kick the tires and light the fires and it's ready to go. Question: Do I just take his word for it or do I go the whole checkout route (oil sample test, etc)? |

guess it depends on what you think of the mechanic...oil samples NEVER hurt..it's like giving a blood sample, you can tell what's going on long before you hear strange noises..4107's are NEAT....tried to buy one in Las Vegas about 6 mo. ago.....I'd still want to drive it,no matter who says what...you can tell a bunch in 20 miles |

Thanks TD, I plan to drive it. Gotta figure out where to go around here for an oil sample analysis. |

Thanks TD, I've seen it. No info on condition. I think I've found a better deal and it's local. |

For airbrush work, call Jack Of Arts (Rick Gamber), Ellicott City, Maryland; he does big trucks all the time. You can get his phone number from his next-door neighbor, West End International Truck Service, Frederick Road, Ellicott City. Nice guy, good job, ton of references. |
