my alternator oscillates in voltage from around 26.3 - 27.4 Volts this is happening either at idle or 1,500 RPM is this normal? I see the pulse rhythm in the instrument cluster also. I would guess it's a bad regulator. |

hey Marvin what's going on with your meds?. I only have one 4905, unless it reproduced by splitting itself like an amoeba. ;) do you think that the problem lies in the generator then?. |

Thank you Brandon, I had the rear end capped in 1/8inch thick steel following the body curve in order to retain the buffalo retro look that to me is beautiful not to mention it adds structural stiffness. here is a link to my web albums if you would like to see it http://picasaweb.google.com/1foo.dog/MyBuffaloesPD4107PD4905PlusOtherBeasts |

George, That may be the regulator causing the fluctuation. These were were originally adjusted to maintain correct voltage when there was a large electrical draw (interior lights, AC fan motor, AC condensor fan, etc.). With a very small load, this sometimes happens. I think FastFred once mentioned adjusting the regulator?? Jack |

George, Looks like a whole lotta work! Kudos for bringing that back from the dead. The last photo in the album looks like you repositioned the driver side electrical panel to over the head of the driver? Brandon |

FOOYE That pic on your postings ain't your Phoenix. You can't fool me one bit. I just want to know who let you take a pic of their coach to post?? The fluxuation of the alt,is from not having a heavy load as mentioned by Jack. When I did have the ac stuff in mine it didn't do that because it pulled a steady load. So there ya go!!LOL gomer |

First its Curley then comes Larry ....the crickets chirp & still no Moe.... I guess Dal is on "Lubrication Replenishment Cycle" & is "Temporarily out of Service" Hey Marv- nice you are aboard the ones who see thru the Havana Smoke Screen, who sold you the clue? TowelBoy... when you gonna tell'em it's painted in Mouse Milk? (weasel) eh..Does Cruise America appreciate you PhotoShop-ing one of their FiberGlas look-a-like Retro Coaches? . . Kubota powered? Your parking space is filling with water slowly Bob & I have money on whether we swim in in first or you park in it... ...and while I'm on the subject of your "parking place" We started an "AZ fund" for you too Bud! ...at lunch we pitch quarters towards the edge of the pit the closest one to the edge claims all the ones that don't drop over the ledge. You got scuba gear ...rite? My 4106's lights pulse @ idle & while @ revenue speed I was told, basically, that the Alt's output is far greater than the draw & that the trick is to adjust the Regulator down until the pulsing either stop or you reach 12.5v on your Voltmeter. That's the sweet spot you want when you own a "Real Coach". I warned you not to even think about buying that Saggin Sow yard Queen, but NO...you wanna be Mr. Fleet O. Busses. I suppose you gave the Guy in the plaid suit $999.00 down plus the 2 payday loans you got for the same Volvo (gotta love Florida eh?) Them $500 a month payments are goin to catch-up with you.... You should've bought a canvas painted like a Prevost (J.C.Whitney..$99.00) and stretched it over a schoolie... now that would have impressed some people around here! ..the sooner FF-Sean-etc. join the chorus the sooner you'll have a full basket of Apples to choose from. . . chirp chirp (Message edited by Jack_fids on January 22, 2011) |

Jack, I don't know what beverage you are partaking of as you write but I WANT SOME! You are an absolute hoot. Last time I heard somebody bashing another guy's ride that bad, a bar fight immediately followed! How many busses do you have to have to be nominated for Mr. Fleet O. Busses? |

Thanks Jim... now you know why I stay clear of Saloons and why my feets is faster than my mouth or fingers in this case. As for my particular choice of "motivation"...? WTFKnows... but I share when in the company of equals, are you a one-eyed, scrawny old fart too? Busses... In order for me to answer that, you would have to renew your membership in the Moron's club unfortunately TowelBoy is the membership chairperson & at the moment his neck is not in my able & willing hands. Wanna share beer battered wiener dogs on a stick at Farnworth's acksquse for a social event? I have a secret Cuban recipe.....! |

My 4106's lights pulse @ idle & while @ revenue speed I was told, basically, that the Alt's output is far greater than the draw & that the trick is to adjust the Regulator down The V regulator (after the batts are charged and there are no loads) simply shuts off the V reg , to keep from boiling the batts. Lowering the voltage is the usual simple cure , we run 13.2 -13.4 normal "float" voltages. With the headlights on there is enough load to not cause the V reg to cut out , no flickering lights , no flickering red GEN on the dash. And NO BOILED BATTS after a 10 hour jaunt. FF |

I forgot that "Deadwood Lament".... and I think it is actually carved on a headstone in Tombstone...because I think I recall reading it at Boot Hill I say "Think" because unlike the Clantons when in Tombstone I remain half-shot. shoo scat. get out of my thread. I have a serious question here that warrants serious behaviour from serious members. not ice folly antics. Fred thank you. I'm going to adjust my regulator after setting some traps around for large Foul fowl. for Marvin's dish |

I'd like to say..... I wanna adjust your intake manifold with a head-lock & show you how to adjust your head with a folding chair... I'll forgo the gutteral humor of "want me to run your rack too? knowing the 3 of you can't be trusted with adult words , either. ..but I won't (Message edited by Jack_fids on January 25, 2011) |
