Someone just contacted me regarding items i have for sale on the classifieds on this site. Beware they are trying to get personal info. Here is the email they sent. Thanks for the email, i am very much Okay with the final asking price of and i will be paying through cashier check so email me your full name and address for payment. because i wouldnt want us to waste any more time on this. please email me your full name and address city, state, zip-code for payment in your next email...it will be picked up from your place after i have made the full payment.i dont do paypal. i dont use phone because i am deaf and dump so dont tell me to call because i know im supposed to call but i dont use phone and im paying $1000 to end it. | ||

I say re-write your pitch with spill chekor and you might get him on the 2nd pass.... ....just sayin Bud.  when you said, "My wife gets these all the time..." you left open a door that was REALLY tempting... but NO, out of respect for HER I din't jump in with.. something potentially offensive that I thought would be funny, an old Dangerfield line or maybe Heny Youngman...either way... she has been so nice to me all these years..it just wouldn't seem right. we do student accommodations here in Edmonton. It is amazing how many scams we receive from all over the world. The best one is when they want to book, send us a cheque for way more than the rent would be and then ask us to "cash the cheque" and send the balance back to them because that was suppose to be the air fair... How stupid do they think we are? or How stupid are people to fall for this kind of thing. They must or it would stop | ||

When the scammers spend hours a day scouring ads and sending out these emails, it only takes a couple of hits a week to make a good payday. So yes, there are stupid people out there that fall for these things. The worst one for me was when I got a call from a deaf relay service which took a while to figure out it was a scam. That was a new low. | ||

Paul, A real SSG Diane Singh does reside in AK(e-mail me at pabusnut*dot*com to know how I know), so this one may be real as I beleive military members can have their cars shipped to AK and back to the lower 48 when they are transferred (or retire). The other possibility is that it was a real ad and now is identity theft(in a a way). If you are interested in this one I would pursue it. Steve Toomey pabusnut |
