Leaving for sun in the morning. Turned on defroster motors nothing from either: Bypassed switch with 24 volt to motors (indivaualy) nothing. Added frame ground seperate: still nothing. 3spd motors 12 volt low 19.7 volt med and 24 volt high. confused why they won't start wired direct???? Bob |

Bob, They maybe just stuck from sitting and if you have the cover off see if you can't spin them and if you can't you can take them apart and clean and oil each motor. I have done that on several units and they worked good after that. If you need to replace the bearings I got mine from Miller bearings here,and they got real quiet after that. Brushes can be replaced also. Gomer |

Maybe bump with hammer if that don't work get a bigger one. Hope not to need them in Fla. |

Update: Defective ground. would test good but when load applied it failed. Note to self ;don't trust your test just establish a new one when in doubt. Bob |

Speaking of defroster motors, I needed brushes for the two in my MC8. Went all over town and no one had brushes for them. Napa, Carquest, the DD shop, electric and industrial motor shop,etc. Figured it would be easy. Took them to a guy that rebuilts alternators and stuff and he is going to order brushes and check out the bearings and all for me. So much for being an easy fix. |

I just got brushes for my motors from a power tool repair shop. They were 1/4" square with captive spring just like a drill or saw. Bearings from same place $1. each. |
