My audible low air pressure warning buzzer on my 1984 MC9 stopped working and I want to replace it but can't find it ... where do I look for it? (can't follow the sound because there is none!). Thanks!

The buzzers are normally located in the front junction box below the driver accessed from the outside.
Usually above the terminal board and to the right of the circuit breakers.
You might have more than one buzzer in that area.

Our low air buzzer is in the lacation listed above and is about 1.5" square and about 3/8" thick. A couple times, our buzzer quit working and a light top on it with a screwdriver hanlde corrected the problem. Jack

Floyd, I have replaced My buzzers with solid state sonalerts! You can find them on ebay really cheap and if You desire, different sound patterns can be had. I now know which system has a problem by the different tone patterns! I bought Mine with mounting brackets used for a couple of bucks each! John L

I have the oppisite problem. Mine buzzed all the time even at 120 psi. But it was the same fix ,I tapped on it with a hammer and now it doesnt buzz at 120psi or 20psi. OK it was a little more than a tap.

I hate buzzers, they are the worst sound possible (Probably by design). I plan to replace my 4107 buzzer by a big red light as I have all my others.

An audible low air alarm is a remarkably important safety device. Here, you won't pass a safety inspection without one.

Best to check your local jurisdictions nitty gritty legal writings. Many are worded such that a visual warning to the driver is all that is prescribed. Others will say it one place that way, and then a catch all that any equipped safety device must be working will be embedded elsewhere.

So, be sure to remove the unused pieces?

Aren't lawyers wonderful?

Anyhow, a deaf driver can't determine whether the buzzer is functioning, and won't be warned by it.

Be sure that big red light you put in is placed such that there is no time you have it hidden behind the wheel or your arms while driving, and is high enough to be well inside your vertical peripheral vision while looking down the road on a sunny day.

You figure, in the old trucks of days gone by, a young driver might hear a buzzer over the racket, an older one surely wouldn't. Hearing loss amongst the grizzled veterans of the road was inevitable.

There's a lot of good come out of health and safety legislation, and the young pups have no clue what they are taking for granted today in their occupations.

Sometimes ignorance IS bliss!!!

happy coaching!

Thanks for the input ... Ended up putting a new one in so no worries if stopped by DOT.
