Somewhat limited knowledge, but Demco seems to be the best, the surge brake option seems to be a very nice accessory. I have had two Demco's, they seem well built. Pulling backwards works, sometimes. I have had two friends try it with bad results, depends on the steering geometry I guess, some want to do curb to curb wobbles when pulled backward. I would sure take a close look at a trailer before buying a dolly to tow T-birds. |

I pull my 280zx datsun backwards...the locked steering on the later model cars really helps, just lock it straight...don't know what your t-bird has |

the tbird has locked steering, guess the best thing is to rent a dolly and see if it works, or maybe a trailer instead. thanks guys! Bob |

Nice thing about a Dolly is you can tuck it mostly under the back of the bus.If you do a lot of camping, many sites don't have room to park a trailer. |

Dolly mfg will not recommend towing any vehicle backwards. Many folks have towed backwards without a problem but it is not "factory approved". Too easy to get a whipping load, I guess. FWIW Jim Stacy |

Mike, I have not found a park around here that will let you tuck it under the bus, got to go put it in the "dolly and trailer" lot, so just as well have a trailer. |

If I tried to stuff a towdolly under my bus, it would be a real mess when the air bags came down overnight. . . BTW, Anyone want to trade a recent model tow bar like an Aventa II etc. for an older tow dolly? I figure the dolly is worth about four to five bills so I am seeking a comparably valued tow bar. Will drag the dolly to Quatzsite for possible swap there in Jan. It has new tires, but a paint job would dress it up a bit. Scott |

Good luck, Scott. I finally had to give mine away. After using it a few times I was totally disgusted with it and sprung for the drive shaft disconnect from Remco and a Blue Ox tow bar. Richard |

As I said before, I think it is a product of steering geometry on the particular thing you are pulling backwards. The last example I saw of a definite wild willie reverse tow was a Dodge Dakota Pickup. Do NOT try it with one of them! I had to help the poor guy get his drive shaft off for a Remco disconnect, he was still shaking too much! Looked like something you would see in a comedy movie. |

Must be a regional thing, and I am talking longer stays, you are apparently talking overnight. If you can name any campgrounds that allow that in the Lower Rio Grande Valley where the winter Texans stay, send me the name of the park. All I have found are very picky about that, some even require you take it down the road to a storage place, not even able to keep it on the RV park property! Some have a useless corner of the park you may park it for free. Anybody in another area of the country find that to be so? |

Hi TWO DOGS, There is a type of chain that can be pushed. Used to move theater sets among other things. Sorry, I can no longer find the link. Thanks, Sam Sperbeck La Crescent, MN |

Nevermind on the tow dolly/tow bar trade thing. I bought a virtually new Roadmaster Sterling today. So the dolly is up for sale out right. I'll post details in the proper section. Scott |
