G'Day All,

On the Allison auto, (HT750DR) in my case the electrical connections on the underside of the box, not sure if these are diagnostic test probes or as I was told the switch to cancel the jake switch after the trans. drops out of lock up. Would this be right, and does it need anything else to cancel the jake. I did receive some information where a low air pressure switch was also connected to these probes. If its electrical why does it need a low air pressure switch. My thinking if its electrical then it wouldn't need air.

Can't find any reference to this switch at all in my workshop manual.

Dirk,
I used a pressure switch on our 740, but ours is the non electronic version. Only wires on ours are for the neutral start switch (back-up light switch was removed from the transmission). We confirmed the lock-up test port by temporarily running a tube to the driver's area with a pressure gauge attached. Our manual showed lock-up pressure should be within 15 PSI of main line pressure (175 PSI). We installed a 65 PSI NO pressure switch. We use the 65 PSI because I already had it laying in the shop. If you have lines going to a solenoid on the bottom of a 750 dr that is a converter lock up to run a PTO

Jack,

Yours might have been the one I heard about by the sounds of it.

Luvrbus,

There is no solenoid that I can see just a rubber female plug with two metal probes coming from it. The box was originally fitted with a PTO.

Thanks again for the replies.

The other thing needed to cancel the Jake is a throttle position sensor.

You don't want the Jake on with fuel going in the cylinders.

Mine is a manual motor, (formerly converted from a DDEC1) so no throttle position sensor.
