I have a new seat for my copilot. any ideas on how to mount it? there doesnt seem to be any solid structure in that area. maybe a plate over and under the original seat track? this is a 102a3 and a villa international rv seat.
thanks, mike

I used the seat rail for the inboard side of the mounting plate holes. For the outboard I took a 4" wide by 1/4" thick plate 8' long and bolted it to the adjacent bulkheads and bus frame. It was overlaid with plywood, then carpet. The seat mounting plate bolts through studs on the 8' plate. The reason I did it this way is because I didn't want to weld strongback bulkhead braces in my wheel well. I also used grade 8 hardened bolts. You may be able to do it differently depending on your frame layout.

Villa was really hesitant to sell me a seat with shoulder harnesses without engineering specs for my copilot seat bolt down points. I finally gave up and bought Flexsteel. Villa was very worried about liability. That's the way things are these days.

Do not under any circumstance bolt those seats down just using the plywood deck. In a wreck you could be launched into the nearest creek.
