.....................
uh...it's the UN
& we are using some of the tens of thousands of old Tomahawk's
that we had in storage since Kuwait & Desert Storm...
and
we are not broke,
the money the middle class used to play with (excess)
has been "transfered" to 400 individuals who clearly need it more. (more than 155 million that used to have access to it)
Both Parties facilitated this as a favor to those who received the largess....& in return for favors granted.
And if you think we are broke now, wait until Saudi Arabia boils over...
6-buck Diesel would be a certainty.
IMHO

Good Question , MY solution would be to use our UAV drones to locate Queerdaffy and simply send in a dumb bomb.

These come almost straight down (GPS or Lazer guided) and cause almost no "collateral" damage.

For CNN to weep about.

The world would think it amusing that we solved a problem , simply by dropping a rock on his head!

WE have rocks that are far smarter than this so called "president".

What does any of this have to do with busses? Certainly there is a political posting board somewhere on the internet. Ian?

What does any of this have to do with busses?

It all relates to FUEL PRICES.

If you actually move the bus , it counts!

Increasing fuel prices affect us all, individual political philosophies are not so universally applicable, even to busses.

Jim this wouldnt be the first board I got into doodoo for being OT, but it is the first time I have ever gone OT on this board. The guys are right though, it does come down to cost of fuel and I would LOVE to see old buses dumped on the palace haha!! That would make a LOT more sence to me!!

I'm only going to get baited into posting on a thread like this once, and only this time because I feel like this is a totally inappropriate forum for this type of discussion. I realize I'll probably get kicked out of the club for this, but please, please, please, can we all go back to talking about busses?

#1. It's spelled Libya. If the typical American spent as much time educating ourselves as we spend on complaining about our government, we'd know that. There's a whole big world out there beyond us. We really should do more to learn about it.

#2. The people of Libya are trying to liberate themselves from a dictatorship and are willing to die for their freedom. We send our brave military into most places to do our dirty work for us. When was the last time you felt strongly enough about something to die for it? Fuel prices, really? Is that all we're concerned about?

#3. I didn't like the last President, but he was the President who was elected by an overwhelming majority of my countrymen, so I kept my mouth shut. Please don't dishonor the office or the Commander-in-Chief of our military.

#4. Before you get all self-rightous about your constitutional right to free speech, please remember that the intent of that is so that people can criticize their government and not suffer imprisonment for doing so. It doesn't mean that you can say anything you like and not have people disagree with you.

Anyone and everyone is entitled to disagree, I got no problem with that. Yes, I know it is Libya and appologize for my spelling..... but that isnt the only thing Iz mizpells. As far as the OT goes, i didnt hijack another thread for this and I like shootin the stuff with my bus buds but there is not an OT forum on this site so I began a new thread and really dont think as many people should be pizzen because of it..... besides I dont visit the political forums on a daily basis and dont really trust complete strangers or seek out their opinions. And just by questioning the Commander-In-Chief I do not equate to dishonoring him. I totally support and back our military guys, but I am allowed to question the decisions of our President arent I?

Drop in and ask a question, express an opinion,
connect a viewer to your preferred product.
But please, no commercial advertising.

Where in the line above is there a stated restriction on the topics of conversation allowed here...?
...and when was the last time you saw someone "advertising" here..?

This a forum of PEOPLE
not an Encyclopedia of FACTS.

This SITE is a Community, not a Service
it is made of people who share a common bond Busses ,
not a forum for social "un-stated" rules" enforcers
there is no prohibition on conversation between consenting adults
and imposing some unspoken restrictions that the owner hasn't
is pretty presumptuous & elitist
according to the education I received over 16 years,
especially between people who are friends whom another one does not know.

This place was NEVER "ALL about Busses"
but has always been about PEOPLE who own a bus,
their desires, perceptions, likes & dislikes & their shortcomings,
partners & children dying, being sick, poor, lonesome
or just plain ignorant about how some facet of their life or bus is or isn't functioning.

We ARE PEOPLE here to interact with others
not here to
expect others to conform to our predispositions & behavior..!
If you come here for technical bus information ONLY
the solution to your consternation is
to ONLY READ those items that interest you!
(or stick to technical books)
In America no one holds a gun to you head & forces you
to read ANYTHING

If you lack the ability or self control to NOT read that which causes you problems
then it ought to be clear that it is YOU
not the rest of the world that has unreasonable expectations
of people you don't know, don't like & can't tolerate.

If some of you behaved in public as you do here
people wouldn't be able to talk about neighborhood problems
at a PTA meeting because it wouldn't conform to a set of rules
no one imposed but you!

No talk of weather at the corner store?
no "How's the Wife & kids?" at the Barbershop?

God forbid someone have a financial thought
while in the bathroom & express it!
If I stopped & offer to help you change a flat tire, would all I'd hear
from you be about flat tires...?

Using the logic you formulated & put forth of
- NO HUMOR ONLY TECH TALK -
you've all FAILED to reach the goal you set
for EVERYONE ELSE HERE ...Whining is NOT a BUS topic,
and you've bit yourselves in your own azz,
you cannot maintain your own authoritarian regulational fantasies...!

The rest of us find tolerance for your imposition of rules unstated, and have for several years
perhaps you can afford to reciprocate equally...?

How about a deal...?
you people stop whining about the rest of us acting like normal people in a normal Community
and we will stop noticing the fact that
your expectations are out of line....?

or not..?

I don't know why we(the UN) are bombing Libya, but then again I don't get a daily top secret intel briefing.

I seem to remember that a certain gravely ill convicted bomber of a certain PAN AM airliner returned home to Libya to a "heroes welcome", and his family was apparently well compensated by a certain dictator while he was in jail.

A high level official who recently defected from Lybia indicates that this certain bombers actions were officially sanctioned by a certain dictator.

Connect the dots and you have some good reasons. Terrorism should not be rewarded.

Thankfully we all have the right to dissent in public in this country, and to contact your elected leaders and openly communicate your thoughts, opinions, and concerns without fear of retribution.

I don't want my next extended involuntary vacation to be in that direction, so maybe a well timed internationally sanctioned strike is in order.

I hate to see us get involved in another fight, but I wish "The U.N." had acted about three weeks ago before most of the freedom fighters got wiped out by the dictator.
I certainly understand why it would have been suicidal for the U.S. to have done this unilaterally.
I'm kinda surprised our man in Washington acted on this one. I think a bit more of him now.

But this is just my $.04 worth. (Used to be $.02 before the opinion prices skyrocketed.)

Um, not quite.

What about the Ludlow Massacre at a Rockerfeller owned mining camp when the state militia fired on and killed numerous miners and unarmed family members?

Or

What about The Kent State University Debacle?

Or

McCarthyism of the 1950's?

Governments role is not (and never has been), to protect it's citizens.
Governments role is to protect itself, and always will be.

I will say very little hear as I do not want to discuss politics in a place I come to for the comrades of fellow enthusiast's and to get a bit of stress relief from the antics that go on here so I will address a comment and question asked by Teresa who started the thread.

Teresa, you stated and asked " And just by questioning the Commander-In-Chief I do not equate to dishonoring him. I totally support and back our military guys, but I am allowed to question the decisions of our President aren't I?

This is where the waters get muddied with are citizens in this Country. As a military man and a Marine, once a Marine, always a Marine, then a citizen so I respond from mindset of those that are, and have served the military and will I address your comment from this standpoint.

As president, Barrack Obama is the Commander in Chief which sets presidencies over his duties as President. The Commander in Chief gives orders which I must follow. As a President he gives comments, viewpoints, and State of the Union speeches. I am not allowed to question him or his decisions acting as Commander in Chief. The last individual I knew personally that did exactly what you are asking under the the elder Bush administration, wound up with not only being able to ask any questions, he also wound up with a other than honorable discharge, and a long vacation in Leavenworth.

So as the world turns with the bold and the beautiful, Yes there are mixed feelings throughout on both sides. As a Citizen not in the military you have the right to do so respectfully.

Kade first Thank you! 2nd I only meant it with the utmost respect..... especially for our guys and gals in uniform! I have family that are currently serving as well as family that is retired. I live in a military town and really, really admire our military. There never was a question about that. And yes, the ones serving..... serve period (which is one of the many things I do admire). As a mother of a potential future serviceman and as an aunt of 2 current active duty service people and as a tax payer whose dollars fund this, I personally believe I have a right to know why we go to war when we do (or instead of war, call it military action).

McCarthy may have been right, but I submit that he went about it in the wrong way.

If you cast a large enough net, you'll catch the type of fish you want, to hold up and admire, but what about the rest... those that were accused but decades later found innocent?
IT was nothing more than a witch hunt to make the scared public even more afraid.
Much like the tactics used in Nazi Germany and Stalin's Russia. Inform on your friends, parents, teachers and even just some one who pisses you off.

And so it goes today.

Up with the Patriot Act and Homeland Security! {*Sarcasm*}

There are only, ever, two reasons to engage in war.

Power or Property.

This is an unfailing tenet. In every war, you can always trace back the causes to those two reasons.

Oil?
Sand?
Beach Front Property?
The Love of the people we liberate?

"Are you saying that Barack Obama is not an American, therefore not your president?"

BO's Mommy was an American , so BO is also an american.

However the Constitution REQUIRES a "natural born" American , which is understood to be TWO American parents.

No question BO'S claimed daddy is was a Kenyon.

So in my opinion he is certainly not president of this country.

Hillery answers the RED phone , and the house and senate write the legislation.
BO plays golf and gobbles Kobi beef burgers.

Michelle has a personal staff of 46 and likes to vacation in A-F 1.

What a country !

...the staff probably "must" travel to A-F 1 on "buses"...the connection, right?

This kind of "humor" I can deal with!

So Fred, are you saying that Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson, James Buchanan, Chester Arthur, Woodrow Wilson, and Herbert Hoover, all of whom had at least one foreign born parent, were not legitimate presidents?
Of course, all their foreign born parents were white Anglo-Saxon protestants from the British Isles which perhaps makes them more natural than someone from Kenya

As many of you know, I'm the very picture of conformity lol, (dallas, quit choking) so I'm going to make this short, I don't know why we're in any of the middle eastern countries if not for their oil, I also don't know why we send billions of dollars to countries that hate us when I like us and am broke. I really don't see much of a chance at converting a tribel society to one that aspires to be walmart greeters and other icons of our society, I can honor the office of the president and still dislike the office holder, I can support our troops and still question why they are there, thats what living in this amazing country allows me, isn't it great? I can also walk into the valley of the off topic subject cause I'm fearless and remember that just because I'm ugly, that doesn't mean I'm smart.
