Does anyone have a resource or any hints for disposing of all the seats from my Cityliner? I've been told by several sources that there is some demand for them, but I've been completely unable to find anyone interested in them. For now, they're getting stacked up inside the Metroliner, but when the time comes to sell the Metroliner (to help pay for the Cityliner's conversion!), I'll have the same problem. These are pretty nice seats, though, and the thought of making a bunch of $15-per-whack trips to the transfer station does not appeal at all. And speaking of seats (I know, I'm proving there IS a demand here), does anyone know of a place where I can get a jumpseat for the Cityliner? Thanks again! |

most converters end up throwing out/giving away the old seats... if you can call someone who is still running the same model as you are, they might want them... some do/some dont.... i prefer putting them on the curb, kicking back with a cold one and watching people trying to "steal' them.... gets kinda funny at times... good luck!!!.... jim |

Matt if there is a gollege around they may take them if they are free. You can also set them outside and put a free sign on them. It cost big bucks to take them to the land fill. |

Advertise them in a Truck Trader or Heavy Equipment Trader or some similar publication. If they are in decent shape you might be able to get a few dollars for them (I got $600.00)from a charter bus line. That's not a lot, but it's better than paying to have them hauled away. Dave D |

I advertised the ones in my 30 year old Eagle as "free" in the local paper. Had no problem getting someone to take them. They even helped unbolt them. |

Actually, the seats from my 96A3 were in very good condition, and I got $1500 for them, I think the best part was they pulled the seats and scraped the rest of the interior for me! I was in the right place at the right time. Brian |

This came up a month ago - I think Brian is the Donald Trump of seat selling, but I did almost as well as he did. I sold mine to a charter company and had two buyers in the queue. If yours are intercity seats (sorry I'm not familar with Cityliner) I would absolutely get in touch with the closest reseller of used coaches. They will have contacts all over the area and know who is looking for what. Also sold my REI 3 monitor set to a different charter co! Yay! Heck if I keep going I can get my money back. Oh, but it wouldn't run anymore I guess if I did that. ;) I really liked the story awhile back of a guy who went on a trip around his area, stopping at every rest stop. At each one, he would get out a pair, have a seat and soak up some sunshine. After a bit he would just drive off, leaving a pair at each place! |

Just saw some Prevost seats on that "e" place - they are *identical* to the ones I sold from my MCI. Same color, pattern, everything. I got five times his minimum asking price. |

Mine were pretty worthless--it's a school bus, with most of them either slashed or just worn-out. I kept some good ones that I may actually end up using in the conversion, took the rest and pulled them apart, ditched the frames on one of my dump runs (I sell what stuff I accumulate to a salvage yard for scrap value...it beats paying to dump it), & brought the rest of the stuff to the transfer station as recyclable foam & vinyl. |

jmaxwell: Sweet! I'm in Seattle, but am going to San Jose in January. Send me an email at mromanek@greykit.com and let me know where you're at. Maybe I can swing by? Thanks! mleibelt: I have two busses the seats are probably coming out of. One is a Neoplan Cityliner, the other is a Neoplan Metroliner. I |
