Congratulations Jack, on a wonderful weekend, you and Paula have once again outdone previous efforts. I don't know how you arrange it all on just $25.00: The marching bands are so colorful, and the chorus line is as good as anything I have seen in 'Vegas, the 16 man precision sky-diving team landing on top of all those lined up busses was absolutely spectacular, and of course the Blue Angels flyby is always a crowd pleaser, and the food... Oh my!!! Those wonderful filet mignon steaks, the tender lamb-chops and succulent Maine lobster were fantastic. Who makes that lovely bearnaise sauce for you? Was the Merlot a domestic, or imported French? Did Paula really bake the 400 croissant rolls for breakfast today? 'Nuff 'fer now, but be sure to put me down for a spot again for next year! Cheers...JJ BTW: Bill P. It's Exit 26 for the Civic Center. |

Due to time constraints, I was only able to make it there for Friday. However, it was really nice to get to meet some of the guys whose posts I read here. It's nice to put a face to the names. I got to see some great-looking buses, and some "works in progress". I got some great ideas, and helpful hints, too. But, JayJay, you forgot to mention the embroidered Bus Nut Jackets and T-shirts Paula made for all who attended!!!! |

This could not have been so great. How many rallys can you go to and stay a week for $25 bucks. And meet great folks. I shock hand with at least 100 people that I have meet in the past 25 years. Great to see old frends. again thank Jack and I hope your better half is doing fine. C Fred |

This was my second Bussin rally in as many years - Had an absolutely great time - good people - good food - lots of information - etc I was able to sell a lot of salvaged stuff - I've acquired over the last year - Webasto 2020 - many Monaco Dash gauge sets - etc - The profits from which will be funneled right back into my bus conversion project Last year I attended in my little 26 foot Classic GMC motorhome - and was not made to feel like an othersider - In fact many were interested enough to want to see the inside of my standard (but unique) motorhome - I came because I needed to see as many projects as possible - so that I could plan mine. This year I attend in my Stainless Steel Tent - my newly painted 35' wide body RTS transit - Many many people stopped by and gave me much encouragement - I came to the rally knowing that I had a bad starter solinoid - when the person parked next to me in a beautiful MCI - walked out with a palm pilot and DDEC II cartridge - I started the bus so that he could attach and give me all the hidden info on my engine - well you guessed it - the starter solinoid failed at that point - the contacts were fused and blew the inner coils wires apart- no amount of hitting the solinoid would stop the starter from turning - had to run around and shut off the power. I learned a valuable lesson - don't start D/D with low batteries - the high current will weld the contacts shut Removed the solinoid and needed to wait till the parts stores open on Monday - But a very wise and knowledgeable ex-freighter pilot from Ft Lauderdale (sorry I'm terrible with names) told me to just go clean the contacts - reinstall and remove the back solinoid cover and stick a broom stick (he used his cane) and booooom the RTS sprung to life again - what a life saver Never did get my DDEC reading - but I was now able to get home to Daytona Thanks to all who made my weekend VERY VERY enjoyable / fun / amusing / worthwhile / profitable / informative / entertaining / filling / peaceful / etc /etc / etc Pete RTS Daytona Hey ACE - where were you - we could have "double teamed" Fred (for all time sake) - look foward to meeting you next year |

Pete was that you that was dirty from working on your bus starter? I talked to you right before you got it fired up on Sunday. Had my name tag on and everyone that was looking for me eventually found me! I was with the band most of the time just goofing off! FF and I talked or I should say passed a few words back and forth and it was calm for the most part. I gave it a lot of thought about him and me and considering the source, I figured it isn't worth the hassle of carrying it on! Besides I've been warned by my fellow prevost friends that since I own one now, I need to change my ways of living, communicating, bussing, etc.! Whatever that means! I guess you could say... I'm trying to! Ace |

OK Ace, I am going to test you when you least expect it. I will try to make some disgusting remark to see if you are truly "converted". |

Back to the topic.... Jack and Paula Conrad are two of the best folks around! And the rest of the best are the GREAT TEAM MEMBERS that support them in running this terrific busin' event! What a great way to spend my first for real journey to the warm south! It was great putting faces to names, some of them that I've "known" for some years now. Talk about sensory overload! Lots of neat ideas, lots of great paint, lots of completely stock, lots of highly customized, lots of hardly changed, and on and on. It turns out the life long fears of getting hooked on the southern sunshine during the cold northern winter were well founded. Add in this excellent busnut gathering, and I'm a goner. Florida and New Year's sure sound sweet to me! Don't feel bad Pete, I don't remember seeing Ace either! Again, thanks very much Jack and Paula! happy coaching! buswarrior |
