Can anyone direct me to a comparison of different busses that describes their good points and bad points. A chart that shows the most common ones and how they compare would be great. One that shows things like engine size, floor to ceiling height, length, etc.

Also, raising the roof seems to me like the biggest undertaking in converting a coach. Something I would rather avoid. Which candidates have the highest stock ceilings? Are there any common ones that would give a finished floor to ceiling height of say 6 foot 3 or more?

thanks,
jp

Jeff, I've collected quite a lot about this since I started looking, but they are just snippets that I got from searching for various things. Since I've been 'reprimanded' :) for reposting other's words before, I can't post them here, but I'll sneak this in: (can't attribute the author)

I asked the very same question, and here is the (highly simplified) answer I received: The best looking bus is the Prevost, the best riding is the Eagle, and the best all-around bus for a conversion is the MCI. The chap completely left out GMs, RTSs and many others. Guess he was dealing in more current production.
At any rate, I have heard this question many times since and heard lots of other answers. It usually boils down to a matter of personal preferences, and chancing upon a great bargain. In short, you are going to have to do your research, haunt this and other boards, go to rallies and ask LOTS of questions, read back issues of Bus Conversions magazine, etc. The preference for MCI is doubtless driven by the less expensive nature of their parts versus Prevost, and their availability (vs Eagle and GM).

Here's what I get when I do a quick search: "Your search for partial+conversion matched 833 pages"

Here's a few to get you started:

(this is also to answer the question you asked in the other thread)
