We have lined Drapes that pull around. The wife made them and curtains on the side windows that are UV protected and drop the heat about 5 degrees. We turn on the genny and airs if really hot. Have 4 inches of insulation also. HTH Dave |

There is a reflective windshield folding thing that fits inside the windshield. I would assume it is available at truck stops as the small ones are in car parts stores. Bill |

I would recommend Rv windshield covers in Lakeland, Fl. My window lost it's seal and developed water inside to the point I couldnt see thru it. After one of their covers was installed, the water was gone the next day. The cover goes on the outside where you want it. Curtains and blinds are for privacy, nothing else! |

http://www.rvwindshieldcovers.com/ Bill and Brenda are the new hosts of the New Year's Arcadia rally, and have been key volunteers, helping Jack with the Bussin rallies for many years. External window coverings keep the heat out, I'll be buying from them the next time my bus is where they are. Support some other busnuts. happy coaching! buswarrior |

I use snap on window shades all around and on the sunny side I slip cut to shape foil lined bubble wrap between shade and window. With much trial and error I found that the shade reflector, whatever used, must be on the OUTSIDE of the window for max proficiency. Ed |

Exactly what Ace and the Warrior posted. I cut celotex (silver one side, black with mfg. print on other) to the shape of my windshields and side windows. I store them in the shower when not in use. I tuck them under the wipers to hold them in place and they work alot better when outside as when just put on the inside. Out glass is slanted back and has a visor over plus our shields are small compared to the huge windows on a M9. all that said and been using them for over 10 years we are finally going to upgrade also to some of Brenda's great work. Not sure what Bill's job is tho haha. |

The double sided foil bubble like you buy in Lowes or HD cut it to size of the windshields install Velcro or cabinet magnets on the outside pop the stuff on the outside of the windshield and you are good to go for 20 bucks. You can make the foil fold nice by heating a strip were you want to fold with a soldering iron it melts the plastic bubble between the layer of foil I hated my windshield covers with the snaps I always had to have ladder to install them and all they are were good for was to stop the UV they did nothing for the AZ heat lol good luck (Message edited by luvrbus on April 10, 2011) (Message edited by luvrbus on April 10, 2011) |

For our side windows we use awnings. Windshields (as well as drivers window, door window & D window) are covered with Bill & Brenda's covers. As was mentioned, covering the glass helps tremendously. If the covers are on the inside, the glass still absorbs a lot of heat which is dissipated to the interior of the coach. Jack |

Just to be clear on the covers and I do have his covers is that they have no R value like the bubble foil but they do help with the windshield heat transfer and the windshield will still get hot here in AZ, I still don't like the snaps lol good luck (Message edited by luvrbus on April 11, 2011) |

paint it white ;) Hadn't thought about the out side window covers. inside it can be used as solar heat if you space it off the glass a couple inches and allow air to flow from bottom to top. |
