I recently removed all the flooring from my 8, (found a few bad spots) I washed and painted frame work. I did not pull the plywood from the center section. Is there anything I should do while I have the floor out, also can the original duct work be used for anything or should I take it out.

Thanks,
Pat

Check for rust on the top of the air beams. They are only 3/16" thick and if you have rust pits that are approaching that depth, do something to either repair the existing damage or prevent future damage. If patches are welded in, they must be perfect welds that do not leak. There is a paint called POR-15 that is great for sealing rusty surfaces after they have been cleaned up. Not cheap at $19 per 1/2 pint but it really works.
