I want to run a 24 volt diesel heater on my 4104. Is their a way to do this either from doing something from the 12 volt side of things or from the 115 supplied from an inverter? The heater I want to run has 24v fan motors as well as an igniter. I don't know much about electrical things so please keep the answers as simple as you can in laymen’s terms. Thanks, Nelson, Knoxville TN. |

I am doing exactly what you want to do. I purchased a 12 to 24 volt converter (good for around 20 amps) I'm using the ProHeat diesel heater. At 24 volts it needs 5 amps. It is not cheap. Somewhere around $300, but you hook it up and (almost) forget about it. Nice small unit that doesn't take up any space to speak of. Hope this helps. Al Mystic, CT |

Check here: http://www.newenglandsolar.com/catalog_pages/catalog59.htm These guys sell 12-to-24 volt converters priced between $100 and $300 depending on how much current you need. They also sell very good, inexpensive DC fluorescent ballasts. 12-24 volt converters also show up on ebay from time to time... search "DC converter" Cheers Gary |

Nelson, I live just over the state line in NC and would like to see other 04's. I have one which is in the extreme early stages of fixing up and would love talk with someone close by who has done one. Carroll |
