Hi folks,

FMCA estimates that there are approximately 5,000 buses that people have converted or are converting into motorhomes. This would include everyone from the do-it-yourselfer to those who buy a bus and have someone else transform it into a motorhome - and everyone in between.

In about the middle of December, 2000, BNO purchased this archivable bulletin board system which has now grown to about 27,000 messages as compared to the "other" big board that has about 3,500 messages.

So this is just a quick message to those who have supported our bulletin board system over the years:

Thank you for making the BNO BBS the #1 source for conversion information on the Internet!

And don't forget to spread the word to the other 5,000 conversion hobby enthusiasts out there!! They'd be nuts not to view our web site on a regular basis... wait a minute... I guess we're already nuts, aren't we???

Best regards,

Ian Giffin

Hey Ian
I can truthfully say that this is the board that I post at when I have information to pass to others. The reason, pure and simple, is the Archieve. Your Direct competitor can't archive at all. After three months of posts, he cuts them and they are gone FOREVER, unless you, the bbs visitor, were able to make your own private archieve.

I am certain I am not the only one that uses this board for a similar reason, and besides being well run, few bbs problems and a chat session, this board has many amenities that most enjoy.

It is I that shall thank you for letting us use your board and all its many sections for us Bus Crazed users.

I find myself visiting BNO at least once a day to see what the Bus world is talking about and I have been doing this since I started converting a bus (Longer than I wish to admit to, like a birthday) and like everyone else, I have received help when I was stumped. this has developed into a fantastic resource for me and all future BusNuts who may wander here. The archive makes this site even more valuable AND OF COURSE I MUST MENTION THE "PLACES WE STAY" section for recommended campground or place to visit, I especially like the section we should have called "PLACES WE AINT'A GOING TO STAY AGAIN".

Ian, you have built an incredible site and the usage from the users is testiment to to a job well done. My appreciation to you always.

At Jacks New Years Gathering a show of hands for folks that used the internet , and to my amazement only about half the hands went up.

I do not remember fondly the days attempting to gather info on conversions (before ALGORE invented the internet).

It was always a long haul to Bus Bashes and the FMCA was about selling new junk , or million dollar "conversions " frequently from companies that had only done ONE coach!

Its a lot easier for a wannabee today to answer the usual question,

"What's the best coach for me?
And why?", than ever before.

With so many conversions on owners web sites , there are loads more choices than Formula coaches usually pictured in magazines,

The featured "SMASH it apart ,get it painted with a mural of your first bowel movement , raise the roof , install a 12,000lb granite/wallboard interior , and THEN check to see if the motor works, after no use for a few years", is only usefull for a few folks.

Yes, its great to have a place to discuss different IDEAS and OPINIONS ,

Thanks IAN,

FAST FRED

Ian....I've written it before on a number of occasions so won't go into detail this time around, except to say this is the absolute best board on the net...bar none, that I am aware of, no matter the subject.

The information available here is amazing and, thanx to you, FREE! Thanx for your continued interest in OUR hobby.

Ian,

It also needs to be said that you have a great sense of humor (helpful, considering the nature of my posts over the past four years), and have contributed greatly to the quality of the dialog from all of us through intelligent moderation of the board and by speaking to us on the highest level, with the utmost respect and patience.

I think we all appreciate that.

When film director James Cameron won the Best Picture Oscar for his "Titanic", he proudly proclaimed, "I am King of the World!"

For this Busnut Community, you're King of the World!

R TERRY

(PS - I would have said more, but we'd have to negotiate a higher price. Sorry.)
