Recently acquired a 3501 with a locked up engine, the engine sits straight in and i believe it to be a 6v53, what rotation would it turn? thanks |

That engine could also be a Toro-Flow, in any case if it is a T-drive it would be a right hand rotation. |

If it's the stock engine, it most definately is a Toro-Flow, although with the track record of that engine it may have been swapped with a 6V53 at some point in the past. With a stuck engine, you may be able to get it to turn by squirting penetrating oil down the injector bores and hooking up a pressurized oil source through the oil pressure sending unit. Leave it pressurized for a few hours, and assuming it was only seized from lack of use it should be able to turn over. If it is a Toro-Flow, you may want to leave it stuck and replace it with something decent. The GM V6 gas engine of that era was a common replacement for the Toro-Flow.
