Just bought an audiovox AOM 55 backup monitor off an online auction site for $30. Sort-of an impulse buy.It has a mounting brackett but has no cables or camera, Anyone know what I will need to complete this system. I know where there is a backup camera on a burned out motor home. Are cameras and monitors interchangeable? Any good sources for cables and connectors? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks Nelson Thomas, Knoxville TN

Color or B&W Monitor? Go to e-bay, security monitors/security cameras. You will find a bunch. I got one for $47.00. Color, waterproof, 0 lux, 480 lines of resolution, aluminum case, 12v. $20 + 27 s&h from Hong Kong

Hi Nelson
My monitor is like a TV, the camera needs some power (12 volt)
my monitor had the cable with it, it had what is called S-video connections on both ends, the monitor sends 12 volts to the camera to power it up and the video and sound are transmitted back by way of the cable.

some cameras are wire less, you tune the TV to a certain channel to catch what is transmitted by the camera,
hope this helps.

Dwight
