Greetings All - We've been lurking here but haven't posted yet. My partner Cherie and I are full time traveling technomads who have been living and working on the road for over five years now. We've just recently sold our truck and Oliver trailer, and are planning to switch to full-timing in a bus. To explore our options, we have a month-long Amtrak pass, and a goal to find our new home on the trip. Earlier this week we were checking out a bus (a 35' Prevost) in Roseburg, OR, and we are right now debating whether to catch a train north to Seattle, or south to start hunting for buses in Arizona and the southwest. You can learn a bit more about us at our website: www.technomadia.com When it comes to buses, our goal is to find something that has been obsessively used and loved by the current owner and which is not suffering from years of neglect. We want a home, not a restoration project or something that needs a major interior or mechanical overhaul. We plan to do plenty of upgrades of our own, but we want a good foundation to build on. We have a page dedicated to our bus hunt here: http://www.technomadia.com/sell-us-your-bus/ We are focusing on 35' buses - yes, we know that limits our options, but we really prefer smaller. Please send any good leads our way - we are eager to find our next home. Best wishes all, - Chris (and Cherie) // www.technomadia.com |

Fast Freds 4106 might be what you are looking for. It is posted in the classified section on this site. But it is located on the right coast. Joe. |

Thanks for the pointer to Fred's 4106 - I just dropped him an email. Other than being a manual transmission and on the opposite coast of where we are currently hunting, it looks very promising. Right now we are on the train headed towards Arizona, where we've got a few 4106's lined up to look at. Other leads on great buses appreciated... - Chris (and Cherie) // www.technomadia.com |

Chris... It's possible if you stay on that train long enough (the way the economy is going) that you might be able to afford THE TRAIN!! Think BIG.... outside the box or Bus as the case may be. Once you have it "finished" you could look at trading it in for a ZEPHER..! In a casual conversation between a BUS owner & a Train Owner, who do you think would carry to most weight, so to speak...? You'd be the BMOC or the BTMOC as the case may be.... the TOP of the PILE Chris... think about it... KING of the FullTimers...! Engineers Cap... hand on the whistle... tooling along in your own Stainless Steel Zeypher no traffic no tires to buy no DD-8-71 bleeding underneath you no truck stops or KOA's man what a life...! do it do it do it!! OR lower your expectations & buy FFred's rig.. and pretend.... (Message edited by Jack_fids on June 11, 2011) |

Chris, don't lower your expectations, reach for the brass ring, it may have a bag on it and the bag might contain something cool, I'm not saying buy the train unless you have jacks checkbook but don't be afraid to look at the next bus or the one after that, make sure it has the engine that you want and if you want an auto don't buy a manual, there are an abundance of buses to pick from, one is perfect for you, and depending on your skill level, don't be afraid to ask somebody to check it over for you, sometimes an extra set of eye's will see something that you missed. |

Chris, the truth is I practically stole my 4106 because someone had "fixed"" the Drivers Light.. which caused a dead short that they could never find & kept draining the batteries, it was a pain & they sold it to be rid of it. Just keep your eyes open, you'll find just the right bus for you & enjoy the journey finding it. - Pay no attention to Chromie's lexdysia, we dno't.. - Yes on the jakes. |
