I am planning to skin my windows in my 4104 from the inside and installing RV style windows in the openings where the orgional widows are. I will keep all original windows in place and have them where they can be opened from the outside (emergency exit fashion)and act as awnings for the RV windows when camped. I have purchased some alum. roof flashing 28" by 50' The alum. flashing will be glued to the wall board and will face to the outside to reflect heat.there will be 3/4" foam in the middle and 1/8" textured RV paneling on the inside wall. Does anyone know how well the bath board will hold up to the heat. Any observations or suggestions on this plan? Nelson Thomas, Knoxville |

Nelson You may want to consider the heat build up between the two panes their have been times that when windows were covered the heat build up cracked the panes on the inside. The windows were designed to have ambient air around them. Just a thought. TED MC 9 FMCA 2535 |

Yeah, but FREE and not stuck-on & tacky! LOL I'm gonna do something similar for version 1.0 of my coach. Hmmm...if FF considers carbunkles too 'RV-like', wonder what he thinks about awnings? ;) |

Did it crack the RV glass or the bus window? What if I slightly cracked the bus window slider open to allow the heat to escape? I also plan to leave the natural alum. finish of the flashing material to reflect heat away from the interior. I wonder if this would make the problem even worst. In winter conditions I figure the outside window will serve as a storm window to help insulate the bus. Nelson Thomas |
