i have a shurflo water pump That will only work if i back the switch housing off a bit. any ideas? |

What model is the pump? The pressure switches on these pumps are actually very low-tech affairs, even the ones on the variable-speed models. Sounds like the switch diaphragm has a bit of foreign material trapped on it that is causing it to read full pressure all the time. When you back it out, that lets the spring-loaded diaphragm relax. I would remove the switch entirely and clean it off. Depending on model you may be able to remove and clean the diaphragm. Make sure there is no debris in or near the orifice. Tom Bad pressure switch. They are rebuid kits available at RV parts stores or maybe on line prices vary also.. Gomer[Sean] |
