Does anyone happen to know the range / specs for injector pop pressure for a 6v92ta? I'm building a pop-tester for my little W123 Mercedes, and I thought I might try to make one that would work for the bus as well. Thanks |

If you build the tester, you need a spray guard! The units we used when I was in the AF, the guage went to 5,000lbs. Each engine mfgr. has different settings, also the +/- pop lb. are critical. What is the range pop pressure are the W123? Fuel at pop pressure will do serious damage to human tissue if you get to close or a line to the injector leaks. Our test units were hand operated and surplus units maybe available. Good luck, lots of older diesels had field rebuildable injectors, but todays???? |

Yeah, I agree one should be careful of high pressure liquids. I've got a nice piece of acrylic to make a guard with. IIRC The highest pressure in a stock OM617 turbo engine is ~130 bar. All the cool kids are building them these days out of a cheap-o bottle jack. Here's one of the threads detailing the construction. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=224334 Here's a shop that sells them for just under $200 http://www.mercedessource.com/node/5180 |

Guess that's out of the question for the new truck engines running at 32,000psi! Good luck, TomC |
