Had a good trip and met Matt from Pa. while there. My bus is usuable, but still not finished. Staying in it away at work though, so it is serving it's purpose. Thinking about getting a wrap instead of a paint job, has anyone ever tried this? They do it with Tractor trailers, just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

They wrap our city buses around here but I don't know the cost difference or how they hold up long term

Thanks, Tim. I know a friend had his painted in Ohio and it was 11K, and he isn't totally happy with it, Someone asked me if they could wrap and I think I will look into it. We just followed some of Taylor Swifts trucks and they were beautiful.(wrapped)

I just spoke with a friend of mine who is a body and paint man. He says the wraps do not last, also, he said they claim the wraps can be taken off easily. He says no, it's a mess... Spanky

I'll vouch for the mess! It took me Two weeks to remove I've from afn 8x16 trailer. The vinyl came right off. It was the glue residue that was a bitch.

Ace, that's what my buddy said, the wrap comes right off but then you're left with the glue and that's where the mess comes in...

Standard wrap lasts for about 5 years and still looks pretty good, but most transit agencies change out a long time before that, like about ever 18 months or so.
If you leave it on too long, you'll have problems with removal as mentioned in the above posts.

Yeh, but if you wait long enough,it'll just dry up, let loose and fall off... probably around the same time that the tires do lol.

It was nice to meet another bus nut in Ocean City MD. Teds conversion is really nice! The slide has given me some bad ideas but you know how that is. Ya never know I might try it? Wish we had more time to talk Ted but stop by if your ever in the Harrisburg area

Matt
