Hello folks, I have taken out the main heat exchanger and the air-conditioner. My question is, do I need to re-route the intake to the outgo or can I just cap them and let the fluid during the winter go to the front heat exchanger for defrosting the windows? Thanks for your help |

Hello Bulldogie. Just cap them. If you tie them together, you'll get little or no flow through to the front, as well as risking upsetting the rest of the cooling system flow by creating an unobstructed "short circuit" with no heat removing ability. For the GM crowd, MCI's have no booster pump, so the water pump is doing it all, and the lines forward are big diameter. The engine doesn't care whether the heater core or the radiators take the heat out of the coolant, as long as something does, before the coolant returns to the engine. happy coaching! buswarrior |

I used the hoses that went to the heater core and got copper caps to put inside the hose then clamped them. It works good |
