I am working on an 05/10 eagle built in 1975...has good engine....I disconnected the A/C stuff and installed a bay area duo-therm heat pump..havew been working on it for 2 plus years...hope to use in early spring..I now know why a custom built coach costs so frazzleing much...every task is special...no mass production..each event demands astute concentration....but..golly....aint it fun?

Hi David, You'd better believe it's fun but, the best part begins when it's done. That's when you have to hand your visitors a tissue before they enter the coach. After all, you wouldn't want them to drool on anything. Torquester

It took me 35 years, but I finally got an EAGLE! 1974 with power steering, jakes, and 10 caps. Drove it home from Roanoke, and had it gutted the next day. Then the progress started to dwindle down to crawl speed. I buy $100 worth of oak, and can saw it up in one good afternoon! Can't wait till Spring! This IS a love story!!!

I need to replace the coolant in my 05 Eagle and would appreciate it if anyone knows the coolant capacity. It is fitted with the standard 8V71GM. Cheers,
Don

DONT have an E but most coaches hold between 75 and 100 quarts of coolant.

DD sells theres by the case , and its gona take a few.

BE sure to buy as many gal of distilled water ,as gal of antifreez , a 50% mixture of distilled water and new antifreez will keep any minerals from precipitating on the inside of the system and reducing performance.

AS antifreez and good water are not cheap, this might be the time for one of DD's $55.00 coolant cleaning kits that will help flush all the old STC and gunk out of the system.

Its easiest to remove the thermostats to make using and flushing the chemicals easier.

Then two new thermostats and a couple of new hoses, any your set for years of no hassle bussin.

IF you live and travel in warm places ONLY you can use 33% antifreez and 67% distilled water to help the cooling a good deal.

If overheating is a problem a chemical called "Water Wetter" is supposed to help also.

My 1976 MC-8 has a coolant capacity of 30 gallons.

Now can anyone tell me what capacity it is without the bus and driver heat in the circuit?

Peter.

Torquester is all screwed up! Even if you live to be a hundred and sixty five, you still won't get it DONE!!! I've only been working on mine for 8 months now, (and living in it for the last 2 1/2) and I've got 87 years of projects mapped out. But, everyone is correct...is IS fun!!! (Isn't it? Please... someone pleeease tell me it IS fun?? Guys?) Cheers...JJ
