I was just on eBay looking for a driven pulley for my old craftsman band saw when I ran into this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/290627655071?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I read it, re-read it, had the wife read it and re-read it and then I thought, "What the Heck, it's only $6.95... go for it!"

I bought 2, and got order confirmation. I expect them to be some sort of toy or maybe a mistake, but if they do happen to be real Craftsman 12" model 22432 band saws, (Probably the Hitachi look-a-like), I'll be a happy camper. One will fit in my bus bay just fine and the other will get sold.

We shall see!

Gomer, Craftsman.com still sells them...

http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-12-in-band-saw-stationary-with-stand-dual/p-00922432000 P

And I agree, they are the greatest from Grizzly or Shop Fox or Jet... but they'll do.

If anyone is interested, on the 12th here in Ocala there is an auction that has several Grizzly pieces of equipment. Floor saw, dust collector, spindle sander, several drill presses, planer and lots of hand tools. I will be helping in the auction and we will take on line bids if any is interested. American Auctions.com is the site.

Bummer, I spent my spare $14 on frivolities. Maybe I'll have to break in to the cash I've got put back for Cat's Christmas present and only get her one 30 pack of beer instead of two.

(She doesn't drink, but it keeps me quiet and out of her way).

Thomas, I guess you didn't read my original post.

If it is a "Key-chain band saw" I will really want to keep the 1 HP motor... I never saw one with that kind of power on a key-chain. LOL.

I really don't expect anything, but... the auction promises full satisfaction. (See the return Policy), Hmmmmm.

I don't see anything, anywhere that says I am getting a toy or a t-shirt or a key-chain.
I got caught out once when selling on ebay, and I made it good. I neglected to proof read my copy, neglected to have the wife proof read my copy and posted it.
When the auction was over, I ended up buying the piece and sending it to the guy because of a misspelling on my paypal.
In the end, (within 20 minutes of the end of the auction), I had accepted the payment, returned the payment, paying for shipping both ways and still getting a bad feed back because he swore we were trying to screw him.
This and other problems are why I don't sell on eBay much anymore. My feedback is at 100%, although I only have about 244 entries, and that arse was banned from eBay.

When the items I just bought get here, I haven't decided if I'll be an arse and make them give me a new, unused Band saw, or I'll just mess with them a bit.

Since he has over 2000 mostly positive on his feedback, and is associated with Discovery Channel/CBS, it's worth the shot. He/They won't want the bad feedback or publicity this could generate.

Then again, if it's a toy and worth the $7, by golly, I'll give those to my eldest grand sons... both of whom enjoy toys, wood working, tools and grampa.

Win - Win either way.

For $7 where could I get a cool toy for me or some grand kids?

Thomas, we do love you though. I hope you are never disappointed in your endeavors.

I paid full price for a 12 inch band saw from sears a few years ago, looks like that one but mine is covered in sawdust, it works well on most of what you'll send thru it, 8/4 hardwood is a stretch but if you take your time it'll cut it, look for a band welder and annealer and buy the bands in bulk so you just need to cut them and weld them, you'll go thru a lot of bands, the roller guides could be better, they got a little play in them that will work on your blades over time and I've never found a replacement guide that fit it even close. Your not going to resaw a lot with it but within the area it's designed for,, if it's the same as mine, you'll like it.

I just got an email stating that they had cancelled the order (s) because they no longer had the items listed. Hmmmm.... I bought the first two. The wife is pitching a real bitch with them.

Funny thing, they must have had them when they posted the auction, right? After all, no one would post an auction for something they didn't actually have possession of now would they? I wonder what happened to the band saws? (Said with Tongue in Cheek)

The Band Saw they weren't going to get what they were worth so they cut out before the dust settled, they Mitered stayed longer but it went against their grain, to play & knot get paid.
