Does anyone have drawings of their system? Is it cheaper to buy a kit or make my own? |

A local 4X4 builder and machinist told me he ordered valves that are made for freightliner that have a built in electronic circuit to allow him to manually adjust the height on an automatic valve. He is installing air suspension on a large 4X4. He has not installed it yet so I have no information, just a heads up for a possible new product for leveling systems. |

Bluebird ofered this on some wanderlodges, there was a schematic and parts list on the site, but I can't find it at the moment. If i recall parts were about 300 bucks. This was for a ridewell system. Gary |

Talk to Ed Gallant in Rhode Island edannbus@aol.com 401-781-4395. The kits that are available are around $400 but they neglect to tell you that you need $500 worth of skinner valves to be able to use the automatic leveling system going down the road and manual while you're parked. Ed is a Pnuematic engineer for Honeywell. He designed a better system complete with valves that works better and is cheaper. I have a complete system of his for my 4107. Ed has already installed his on his 4905. He's leaving on vacation Friday morning for two weeks. Jim |

some have replaced the leveling-valve connecting rods with electric actuators that work real nice. I want something for less $ and simpler so I designed a manual system to adjust the langth of the connecting rod using a push-pull cable. as soon as the 06 is out of the shop I will install one and see how it works. joe 4106-2119 |

two fellows here on the island just put asir level systems on their 4104's at a cost of lessthan $200 Can.which is less than$150 US, it took less than a day to put it in and it works great. the big thing about a level system is making sure that you have no air leaks. i will get ahold of Bart and ask for the print. |

Mine costs about $200. Auto uses the NuWay road valves. Electric solenoid (12v, 5 port 2 way) at each of 3 leveling points w/ manual valves for park leveling. Manual valves are the seat valve type. On the Neoplan I will install same system but using Imperial 3 way manual valves for greater air capacity. I am using them now but need to install the 5 port 2 way electrics for switching air sources to the air springs. The only problem I have encountered is with the solenoid valves and air leakage from them so I am looking for some that are guaranteed without paying 2 fortunes for them. The ones I have on the Grumman are supposedly good valves, they were abt. $60 ea 6 yrs. ago, but they leak around the slide spindles. |

My manual leveling system uses the original automatic leveling valves in the coach when we are traveling, but is manually controlled when we are in camp. It cost less than $50 and works great. See the May-June 2001 issue of The Coach-Builder's Bulletin for details. |

Maybe, since you brought it up, you'd be so kind as to post the article online. Some of us don't have subscriptions or access to the past issues. |

For $50 the only thing George could have done was install manual ball valves. I installed three solenoids (aka Skinner valves) per leveling valve and spent about $500. My setup works from the driver's seat using toggle switches and it takes me 2 minutes to level out the bus. --Geoff '82 RTS CA |

My guess is George would like everyone to purchase a copy. I note back issues are available......Don't have one myself, else would share it.... RCB '64 Crown Supercoach |
