I have to figure this out by morning as I am going to finish the job I started with replacing all four of my front airbags. I would like to replace the copper air lines to these bags with nylon. What I have now is copper with a hodge podge of fittings. I want to start with the airbag lines which are concealed where they connect to the bags. Any thoughts on using nylon airlines to serve each airbag? |

Great idea.....make sure that it's DOT approved tubing... it will have the DOT markings on it, if it is.... then also make sure to secure it so it can't rub or chafe.... |

don't know wheather or not it's nylon...but I'd use the plastic line like they use on big trucks...go to a big truck parts house, they also have all the correct fittings |

Yes, fittings are different from copper to plastic. Make sure you use the correct ones and use the ferrules with the shoulders and the little insert that keeps the plastic from collapsing. One asset that copper has is that the mice can't nibble on it. You might think about replacing the copper with copper if the bus will sit during the winter in an area that has mice. Mice and rats are looking for the salt from your hands and fingers that you deposit on the lines as you hook them up. That is the best reason for using copper hehehe |
