With this announcement, I hope to start a new idea that others can use. That is to announce where you will be camping, give some information on what is there, and invite others to park beside you and get together for some relaxed conversation. This is totally informal with no reservations, planned activities, etc. However, it would be nice to know who is coming to ensure parking space is set aside. It is not intended as a "coaching event," just some coach-builders enjoying the same event and filling the leisure time with friendly conversation with other like-minded folks. I suggest that you use a title like this one so that people who are not interested can skip over them. WEEKEND TOGETHER, Springfield, OH 16-17 June At least once a year we attend an Antique Show & Flea Market at the Clark County Fair Grounds in Springfield, Ohio. We would like to invite anyone who is in the area, and interested, to join us. We will attend the June 16-17 show in our coach and expect to arrive after lunch on Friday the 15th. The flea market has lots of "stuff" for everyone. Most of it is "collectibles," but there are tools etc. The Air Force Museum is about 15 miles away if that is more to your liking. The fairground is located beside Exit 59 on Interstate 70 at StRt 41 southeast of Springfield, Ohio. The camping area is on the back side of the fairgrounds toward the Interstate. After exiting at StRt 41, go down the ramp that would take you back on I-70 going west. About half way down the ramp, turn right on Layborne Rd. The entrance is a few hundred feet on the right. We will park about 2/3 of the way down to get past the crowded area. Look for a Gillig Phantom in part white, part gray primer, and part original stripes with FMCA number L2014s. The camping area has 30-amp hookups for each site as well as one dump station and a few water hydrants (with threads for a hose). The cost was $20 per night last year. {http://www.springfieldantiques.net} There should be a ribbon across a few sites beside our coach. If we are not there, move it and pull in. If you have any questions, call us at (937) 426-9850. We would appreciate a call or e-mail to let us know how many to expect. George and Sue Myers |
