My bus has a 6V92 DDEC with a HT748 (Bennett Air Shifter), it has a rotary ignition/light switch. The problem that has occurred is that the ignition turns on fine, powers the systems, the bus starts fine, but won't turn off with the ignition. I have to turn off the ignition switch, put the bus in gear to shut down the engine and systems.

Any thoughts before I bring it the the DD repair shop and pay $$$$$..

Thank You.... CaptBob

Capt -

Wait until the air pressure in the system is over 100 psi, and then try shutting it down.

Oh, wait, that's for a MUI engine. . . Ah, well, try it anyway. . . it doesn't cost anything but a few minutes of time. . .

Just discovered that my high idle switch is also not working, guess I should start looking for a common circuit somewhere. Time to get out the wiring charts.

Just my thoughts, but I have been cautioned not to stop an engine by putting in gear to kill it. Too much torque put out by engine will ruin clutch, transmission, etc.

I agree with Luis, do not shut your engine down that way, not a good idea stalling it, if you are unable to shut the engine down via the key, you can try the remote engine stop on a panel in the engine bay (if so equiped) or, the emergency engine shut-off (if it's working and you have one) If those don't work you can do the job of the shut off solenoid yourself and pull the rack closed on top of the governor.

I had a similar problem with my 8v71 and I replaced the wiring from the triple protection engine alarm to the oil pressure sensor and haven't had a problem since.

It could also be the oil pressure sensor itself.
