Am installing new bolt on brake lining 6 bolts per segment 3/8 brass bolts how tight should I torque these bolts ? Thanks in advance Merlin

if memory serves, i believe it was 35 lbs final torque, torqued in stages... 15, 25, 35.

Are you sure? These are described as brass bolts.

3/8-16 Steel, grade 5, are spec'd for 36 lbs and I don't think brass matches Grade 5.

I am sure they are brass not steel 36 or even 35 lbs seeme tight for the application Merlin

Hi Merlin:
The 4106 book says 20 to 25 foot pounds.
We tighten them up until the lock washer is closed tightly. Caution: over tightening will crack the lining.

Also you want to be sure that the surface of the steel shoe is clean and smooth. If not, same problem, lining will crack.
