Well, we seldom post but since we're side-lined in Wisconsin for a while, if anyone's in the area feel free to drop by Meier Truck/Badger Bus (co-located) in lovely downtown Madison and visit. Our transmission died while we were driving along. An odd feeling, the engine running fine but no gear response. My spare transmission is being shipped here from Florida so hopefully we'll be on our way again in a week or so.

Alan, the towing company showed up with a big Mack truck with wheel lift equipment and it was done very nicely. It was only $135 per hour, portal to portal. Plus tax. We did take photos, next time we see you, remind me to show them. Sorry to hear of Howard's muddy feet.

By the way, how did the steering turn out? (no pun intended)

Hi, Kirby and Linda.

That transmission looked too well cared for to go and do that! I hope all goes well with the replacement.

Come to think of it, I don't know many people who have a spare transmission setting around, ready to go in. It sounds like a case of preparedness to me.

I hope you two are otherwise well, and Doreen and I are doing good. Planning for our next trip, already. I think I'll skip the transmission part, however, if I can get away with it.

Take care.

Kirby and Linda, You have been on my mind all summer and hope you are having a great time other then this setback. Just think of the stories you'll get to tell, hopefully, at Guyton. Will you be back for the rally? Alan, bring Paco and come on up. You are the life of the party and we so enjoy your company. We have a few stories to tell too...Miss ya, Sherryd-John and Jonathan ...PS Watch out for cheese heads!

Hi K&L!
Aside from this setback, I hope you had a great time playing with the fireworks in North Dakota.
My last trip to MN in my 4104 my underdrive 730 acted up & I was shop bound. Found the easy to remove & clean governor sticking. This caused a similar problem where it would not shift and would free wheel. No fun!! Fortunately tho....
Easy fix & away we went!!

We sure had fun with you all at BusNUSA!!
Hi from Jane too. Good luck!! Joe in Palm Desert

Hi, Mark... we will most likely still be here as the trucking company says the replacement tranny will be here on Wednesday. So I guess Meier Truck Service will start work on Weds. or Thurs. depending on what time Wednesday the cargo arrives. We are the nice-looking 4104 with black roof, not the one next to us with broken windows and used-to-be-red roof, LOL
