On first day of 2-day trip, forward exhaust manifold flanges broke off, causing hi temp in engine compartment, melting wire insolation and plastic air line failure. Any one have an extra in the New England area? Thanks, Joe 4106-2119 |

Joe, I have been told that one cause for failure of that manifold is failure to get it seated properly after doing starter work before tightening the bolts. For what it's worth. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 Suncatcher |

Tom, i've done a bunch of starter work but never loosened the exhaust manifold fasteners. but thanks for the info. aren't you running a 8V71TA? maybe you have to loosen/remove manifold for a TA system. joe |
